Blind Ram BOP

The main function of the Blind Ram BOP is to cut off the opening in the tubing or drill string when the well is not producing. The Blind Double Ram BOP is a special type of Ram BOP. It can cut multiple tubing rams or larger diameter tubing regardless of their orientation to the centreline of the plunger.

Blind Ram BOPs act as gate valves to regulate the flow of oil through the drill stem. They can also seal the well when required and are able to cut the pipe several times without damaging its tip. Other devices that can prevent blowouts are annular blowout preventers.
